How to Watch Netflix with Windscribe VPN

Netflix has a reputation of having watchful eyes on any unauthorized access to its site. Despite its massive popularity and billions worth of revenue, the company strictly implements its copyright policy. This streaming service provider is notorious for flexing its muscles against VPNs. Luckily, using Windscribe for Netflix can circumvent the restriction. In this blog, we will discuss how Windscribe can access Netflix and what to do in case it doesn’t work.

Why Use Windscribe to Unblock Netflix?

Netflix is the king of all streaming service providers, the multi-billion dollar company has more than 158 million subscribers worldwide and still growing. From a business perspective, it’s doing all the necessary measures to ensure profits. This includes meeting licensing requirements from production companies and countries and limiting or completely shutting down access to contents that its subscribers haven’t paid for.

But, being in a country that has geo-restricted content can be frustrating for viewers. Subscribing to a VPN service is one of the most effective ways to access geo-restricted sites. But, not all VPNs have the technology to bypass the heavily-guarded firewalls of these sites. Luckily, Windscribe knows the workaround to access streaming services. Here are the reasons why this VPN provider is a viable option to watch Netflix:

IP Address Masking

Windscribe works like Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak for your IP address; it hides your real IP address and replaces it with another one that is allowed to enter Netflix’s gate. For example, if you travel abroad, Netflix can detect that you have moved countries. When you attempt to watch content from its library in that country, its security facility will automatically shut down your network, even if your account is in good standing. When this happens, you’re going to miss watching all your favorite shows!

By using Windscribe, your connection will be given a US IP address. Doing so will make Netflix think that you’re streaming movies inside the US territory, where in fact, you’re not.

Coverage

Windscribe has servers in 60 countries and 110 cities. If you travel a lot, it can let you catch up with your best-loved series. Even the free version works in 10 countries, which is very impressive considering that it’s free.

Inexpensive Pricing

If you use a VPN primarily for Netflix, we suggest that you sign up for a monthly subscription plan. If you visit a country with a repressive regime, there is still a possibility that the government can intercept the VPN signal. Selecting the month-to-month payment option will give you more freedom to cancel your subscription at any time.

Windscribe offers budget-friendly subscription rates. For only $9/month for its monthly plan or $4.08/month for an annual plan, it has the package that will not drain your wallet.

If you are on a really tight budget, you can choose the option to use “Build-a-plan” where you only pay for the location (a custom plan service). Just connect to those locations that are labeled “Windflix” to connect to Netflix. We asked Garry, their helpbot, about Windflix and this was his reply:

If you are not satisfied with any of Windscribe’s services, you can request a refund if you unsubscribe within three days after signing-up.

How to Use Windscribe VPN to Watch Netflix

Using Windscribe VPN to Watch Netflix is very easy. Just follow these steps:

For the sake of this tutorial, we will choose “Windows.” The “Windscribe.exe” file will download at the bottom of the screen. Once the download is finished, click on it and follow the installation process until the end.

3. Launch the app

If the installation is successful, you will see the Windscribe icon on the desktop. Click on it to launch the app. Press the On button. Remember to choose WindFlix US under the server drop-down list.

4. Enjoy the movies!

Go to Netflix, log-in, bring out the popcorn, and enjoy the show!

Using Windscribe but Netflix Isn’t Working? Try This

There’s nothing quite like the frustration of trying to watch a favorite series and suddenly you find that the VPN is no longer working. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered… Here are some basic troubleshooting steps that you can do in case Windscribe and Netflix are not working:

1. Turn the VPN On and Off

Refreshing your connection can work wonders most of the time. Just click on the “On” and “Off” button on the app.

You can also restart your device, including the modem, to reestablish a connection.

2. Switch servers

Choose any location under the server list, then select WindFlix US again. See if it works.

3. Change protocol

Protocols can be the culprit in some cases. By default, you are using OpenDNS protocol. You can change this to IKEv2 by going to Menu> Preferences>Connection Mode> Manual>Protocol: IKEv2>OK.

4. Check for software conflict

If you have other security software like antivirus, you can disable it first. You can also delete the cache and browsing history to make sure that they aren’t causing the issue.

5. Contact Technical Support

If nothing works, contact technical support for assistance. You can create a ticket, and a technical support rep will contact you. Unfortunately, the company has no live phone support yet. Getting help can take a while.

If you are not satisfied or have trouble figuring out how to use Windscribe VPN for Netflix, you can always get a refund as long as the request is made within  3 days of the purchase. All you need to do is write an email to their support desk regarding the matter.

As long as the refund request is made within the timeframe, then you shouldn't have any trouble getting your money back.

In addition, Windscribe offers free trial accounts that you can use to test how well it works with Netflix and other streaming services before paying for a subscription. However, free accounts have limits concerning bandwidth and how many servers you can connect to, so keep that in mind.

Summary

As a multi-billion streaming service empire, Netflix is creating measures to protect its assets. When Netflix purchase movies, it comes with restrictions. The copyright for its acquired films limits the location where those movies can be legally shown. This is the primary reason why Netflix US library is blocked outside the US territory.

Thankfully, Windscribe provides both online protection and the capability to unblock Netflix’s restrictions. It lets you watch films on an unlimited number of gadgets working simultaneously and has no data cap. However, there is one letdown and that’s the speed. Windscribe’s connection speed for streaming doesn’t measure up to other VPNs, especially if you are far from its servers. Unfortunately, this can potentially affect your viewing experience.

Aside from this, we think that Windscribe is an excellent VPN for Netflix overall. For what it’s worth, we highly recommend it.
