How to Use Gibiru Search Engine

It’s no longer a secret that popular search engines like Google prioritize profit over users’ privacy. Apart from this, the fact that the articles you see on a search page are “tailored” by Google thanks to its personalized search and complex algorithm, can leave one feeling frustrated and suspicious of censorship of information. Many individuals value and protect their privacy, and this is why the Giburu search engine was born — to provide users with access to free and private information.

What is Gibiru?

Google’s advertising model means that it has no choice but to track its user’s online behaviour and this can be disconcerting to some users. This is why you tend to see the same product ads popping over on every website and social media feed.

To provide users with a more protected browsing environment, private search engines like Gibiru have been created. It was launched in 2019 as a search engine that does not capture the traceable information of its users.

The man behind Gibiru is Steven Ray Marshal. While his name isn’t listed on Gibiru’s page, a search returns his LinkedIn profile, which highlights his experience as a search marketing professional.

In an era where online privacy is almost a myth, internet users have sought Google alternatives that do not collect or trade personal data, with or without permission.

When you’re using Gibiru, none of your information will be sold or leaked to third parties. In fact, the private search engine strongly recommends that you actively block cookies and use a VPN to further protect your security online.

Data sent and received on the Gibiru browser is protected by an HTTPS 256-bit encryption. Gibiru has also released an app for Android and iOS, which also offers the same protection.

How is Gibiru Different from Other Search Engines?

In commercial search engines, your browsing behaviours are traced through the websites you’ve visited, your IP address, and the cookies saved on your device.

Instead of following the norm, Gibiru does not store IP addresses nor places cookie files on your device. Gibiru believes in freedom of information, and you’ll have the option to view “uncensored” results on the search engine. It allows you to check out the listing that has been filtered out by Google.

As Gibiru is not reliant on advertising revenue, you won’t be retargeted with ads based on what you’ve searched on the browser.

This doesn’t mean that Giburu doesn’t run ads on its search results. You’ll still find promoted search results but none of your personal information will be used for ads targetting.

Gibiru’s insistence on privacy protection is also unlike other search engines. It strongly recommends that users complement the search engine by installing a VPN. Using a VPN allows the users to hide their IP address and channel the data through an end-to-end encrypted tunnel.

You’ll also get 20 listings on the search result page, instead of 10, which is practised by other search engines.

Pros and Cons of Gibiru

As a search engine that favours privacy, Giburu seems to be the perfect answer for anonymous browsing. However, are there any disadvantages to using the search engine? Here’s an objective view of the pros and cons of Gibiru.

Pros

  • It doesn’t log IP addresses.
  • No cookies are injected into user devices.
  • Gibiru doesn’t store or trade personal data.
  • Browsing is secured by a 256 bit HTTPS encryption.
  • It provides uncensored search results.

Cons

  • Gibiru may monitor server logs from time to time, although your personal information is not accessed.
  • It does not have a built-in proxy which prevents the connected server from identifying the IP address of the user.

Is Gibiru the Right Search Engine for You?

One thing that you might notice in a Gibiru search engine review is that the search engine seems to be hit or miss. When you enter your search keywords, it either delivers results that are relevant and useful to your needs or it spits out poor-quality sites with irrelevant information.

Still, the key selling point of Gibiru is that it is an “always-on” search engine that doesn't track you. An always-on search engine means there is no drop in speed, the way there is with other search engines. It doesn't track searches, which provides a level of privacy for its users. If those are traits that you find particularly valuable in a search engine, then yes; Gibiru might just be the right search engine for you.

How to Use Gibiru

It’s fairly easy to start searching Gibiru instead of a conventional search engine.

1. Load Gibiru’s homepage in your browser by keying in www.gibiru.com.

2. Enter the search phrase into the text box and click the search icon. Here’s the search result for “best headphones.”

3. If you wanted to access the uncensored result, click the “uncensored” tab next to the “all results.” You’ll get a very different set of results.

Best VPN to Use with Gibiru

Gibiru advocates using a VPN to ensure total security when you’re on the Internet. These are some of the best VPNs that work flawlessly with the search engine.

1. ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is recommended by Gibiru and for very good reasons. It’s arguably the fastest VPN in the industry with more than 3,000 servers in 94 countries. Secured with the AES-256 bit encryption, ExpressVPN is practically unhackable and as safe as government agencies employing the same encryption.

2. NordVPN

NordVPN offers an abundance of features to protect users from hackers and malicious third parties. Based in Panama, the VPN offers military-grade AES-256 encryption and features like Double-VPN to further protect the data tunnel. You’ll also find the connection speed adequate for streaming on the Internet.

3. ProtonVPN

Few would argue with ProtonVPN’s claim of being the most secure VPN on the planet. After all, it’s developed by the same team that created ProtonMail, a leading secure email service. ProtonVPN routes data traffic through multiple servers to prevent the risk of successful attacks.

4. Surfshark

Surfshark has cemented its place as one of the best VPNs for online security. Its camouflage mode ensures that even your ISP can’t tell that you’re using a VPN. In countries with strict internet censorship, the NoBorders mode will allow you to slip past the firewall and browse the Internet as usual.

Summary

It’s about time that internet users have a say in online privacy. Private search engines like Gibiru are beacons of hope in a digital world dominated by Google. Coupled with one of the VPNs mentioned, your risk of privacy intrusion on the Internet is greatly reduced.
